Moropus

Moropus is a chalicothere, an herbivore closely related to horses and rhinos. Chalicotheres are noted for their deep skulls and heavy, sloping builds, almost like that of a gorilla. They have long arms tipped with claws instead of hooves, and some of them knuckle-walk. Moropus doesn't; instead it has a weird "pigeon-toed" gait.

Moropus lived much like therizinosaurs, ground sloths, and pandas. It is a specialized leaf-eater that used its tall, sloping build and long arms to reach tall branches. The top of some Moropus skulls have thickened bone, indicating some form of headbutting competition, possibly for mates.

Moropus can be found in the Cenozoic North America exhibit.
