Megacamelus

Megacamelus is the largest camel to have ever existed, taller than a human at the shoulder and weighing over 3 tonnes! Megacamelus resembles a large version of modern-day camels, including bearing short, wide toes and a fat-storing hump. It would have been one of the largest herbivores in North America at the time. We have a bachelor group of Megacamelus that lives in the Pleistocene Plains exhibit. |
