About Us

The International De-Extinction Alliance is a union of geneticists, natural history museums, zoological institutions, and conservation biologists from around the world. We are dedicated to reviving extinct species, assisting those at risk, and securing safe spaces to bring them back the world. We manage cooperation between institutions and assist with de-extinction, reintroduction, and conservation. We promote environmental education and wildlife conservation in the hopes that the current extinction crisis may be averted.

Imagine a world where extinction is optional. This is the world we want to create.

History

Following an International De-Extinction Conference in 2007, a partnership between the Thomas Henry Huxley Paleozoological Gardens, the Figueroa Institute, and Genetic Lifeguards was formed. This tripartitate union was titled the International De-Extinction Alliance, formed with the shared goal of reversing the Holocene extinction crisis. Over the years numerous other members and associates have joined the cause. Today, we are the forefront of the de-extinction movement, and continue to take great strides in the field.

Leadership

We are led by a Senate formed by representatives from our member organizations, which decides most of our actions.
